I want to upgrade my computer to Windows XP. Will TweakMASTER still work?

TweakMASTER Knowledge Base article KB0002

If you are upgrading a computer from Windows 9.x to Windows XP, be aware that Windows will automatically check for "compatibility" against a Microsoft-compiled list of known "compatible" applications. For the "privilege" of getting on this list a developer must pay what amounts to a substantial "bribe" to Microsoft. Of course the software developers who pay this bribe simply pass along the costs to the end-user.

This compatibility check is utterly meaningless. TweakMASTER has been fully tested and is 100% compatible with Windows XP. Although we have chosen as a matter of principle not to pay Microsoft's bribe to use their official XP compatible logo on our site, the program was developed on an XP machine and tested fully with the new OS. We are all using XP now ourselves with TweakMASTER running on it. And we have many satisfied users already using Windows XP as is evident on our rave reviews page.

You can safely ignore any compatibility 'warnings'. On the other hand, you should know that the whole idea of upgrading a Windows 9.x computer to Windows XP is fraught with peril. Hagel Technologies' partner in the development of TweakMASTER, InfiniSource.com and Windows-Help.NET, specifically do NOT recommend doing the upgrade, but rather reformatting your hard drive and doing a clean install.

Windows XP is a bullet-proof operating system, the best thing Microsoft has ever built, and there is little logic to carrying over the many faults of Windows 9.x to XP. You may get away with it, but you will certainly have far fewer problems if you do it right and do a clean install. Either way, though TweakMASTER should work normally for you.
