I use a ping utility to keep my connection from dropping. Why do I need TweakMASTER?

Simple pinging no longer works to stay connected to most ISP's. They quickly implemented scripts to avoid the mindless little utiltiies that simply pinged their server. TweakMASTER is far more sophisticated for maintaining a connection... It does not work in every case as there are many reasons why a person can get disconnected from their ISP... not the least of which are phone line noise, weak modems, etc.

In order to possibly help the Keep Connected function work better, you can modify the access interval between TweakMASTER's efforts to maintain your ISP connection. Bear in mind, you must UNcheck the 'Random interval' option before you can set a specific access interval. That may help.

But if the ISP has a policy of disconnecting you after X minutes of inactivity then TweakMASTER can help in many cases where a simple ping utility will fail. MSN, Worldnet.att.net and Juno are a few notable examples where proprietary technology is used and TweakMASTER does not avoid those disconnects. But it works fine for the majority of users.
